How MIFA Helped Melony & Nailah

This holiday season, we're sharing stories from families who have been helped by the MIFA Housing Opportunities program and Presley Place, a 12-unit housing community that shelters homeless families until they can make it on their own. Melony Evans and her nine-year old daughter, Nailah found their new home at Presley Place three months ago after living in a Salvation Army shelter. “Every day I take a sigh of relief in knowing that we’re in a safe and peaceful place,” explains Melony, who’s excited about her new job at the Nike distribution center. "Of all the places that I’ve lived, I feel so much more at home here at Presley Place. Inside and out, Presley Place is a great, nurturing environment for Nailah and me.”
